Hi! Welcome to AllerRama. This site is dedicated exclusively to rating allergy friendly foods and products. Nothing else. Nada, Zilch, Zero. We found it very difficult to find a web site that would rate the food, treats, and snacks that we wanted to try. There were sites that talked about products, but you would only see one person’s opinion. There were sites that discussed many other allergy issues, but none that just rated the food. How did it taste? Would they eat it again? Was it outstanding? Or did they need to run screaming into the night after eating it? We wanted to know! So since we couldn’t find a site like that, we decided to build it. (Or rather, we decided to find a few very smart teenagers who could build it, as we had no idea what we were doing.) Then Voila! AllerRama was born.

The raters we have are in different age groups, have different allergies, and have different backgrounds. We also have a whole group of raters without allergies. When you are choosing a food for a whole family and only 1 person has the allergy, you still need to get treats for the entire family to enjoy. If the 1 person with the allergy thinks that it tastes great, and the other 4 people think it tastes like styrofoam, there will not be peace and harmony in the home. So we included raters with, and without allergies. Of course the largest and most diverse group of raters we have is YOU! So share your experiences with the products, but please, in the interest of kindness refrain from critisism extremism. If you believe the maker of the cookie should be boiled in oil, or burned at the stake, try just “not my preference”, or not my “cup of tea”. The manufacturers of allergy friendly products are usually very small companies started by very caring sorts of people. It is hard to produce something that everyone will be happy with. Especially when you have to leave out many of the ingredients that would normally be found that food.  If you loved it, then definitely let everyone know!
